Tracking the Progress of DSARs
Posted on 26/08/22
When a DSAR is received it needs to be processed and disclosed within 30 days, else penalties can apply. The ICO do sometimes grant extensions but only if they are satisfied improvements to internal workflows will be made to prevent repeat offences.
It’s therefore essential that organisations have the relevant processes and tracking systems in place to ensure disclosure deadlines are met. For small quantities of DSARs, Excel or a similar application can do the tracking-job, however, it’s not ideal and certainly not fit for purpose for large quantities of DSARs. In such cases you need a much more robust and scalable solution.
To make light work of the tracking process, Smartbox.ai has an integrated DSAR Tracker workflow that guides users through the DSAR process step- by-step, including the ability for the final redacted bundle to be disclosed securely via a HTTPS link.
As every stage of the process is tracked, a range of insightful management metrics are available via an enriched dashboard. These include insights into the time a particular DSAR took to process, its size, the average processing time across all DSARs, and a helicopter view of where every DSAR is in the process.
